Representatives of Materials and Metallurgical Research (MMV) have signed a contract with Metrostav DIZ for the construction of the CirkArena research and development centre for the circular economy in Třinec. This important project brings innovative solutions in the field of industrial, construction and bio-waste recovery and represents an important step in the transformation of the Moravian-Silesian Region towards a sustainable future.
The project, funded by the Fair Transformation Fund
Construction will be carried out using a Design and Build system, which includes complete integration from design to implementation. Work will start in summer 2025 and completion is scheduled for the end of 2027. The project is funded by the Fair Transformation Fund with a total construction cost of CZK 1.236 billion excluding VAT. Additional funds from the nearly CZK 2 billion budget will be used for research activities related to circular economy issues.
The scientific approach and sustainable construction
“CirkArena is a symbol of the modern transformation of the Moravian-Silesian Region and a concrete response to industrial and environmental challenges. The project connects science, innovation and sustainable development, which will strengthen the circular economy not only in the region but also at the European level,” said Jakub Švrček, Executive Director of the MMV.
