On 16 September 2026, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Belgrade held the seminar “Decarbonising Business: Czech and Serbian Experience – Policies, Investment and the Circular Economy”. Alejandro Sanz and Petr Janoš represented Materiálový a metalurgický výzkum (MMV).
At the seminar, Czech and Serbian companies and institutions shared their experience of decarbonising industry. The discussion covered how to shape policy, how to finance investment in low-carbon technologies, and how to put circular economy principles into practice.
In his presentation “MMV and CirkArena”, Alejandro Sanz, Director of Strategy at MMV and CirkArena, outlined MMV’s eighty-year track record in materials research and testing. He also introduced CirkArena to the Serbian partners. The project connects industrial companies around the circular economy and gives them a platform to work together on sustainable solutions.
The seminar gave MMV a chance to build links with Serbian companies and institutions working on decarbonisation. It was also an opportunity to show what Czech experience can bring to industry in the Western Balkans.
