Since the beginning of July, Prof. Ing. Bedřich Smetana, Ph.D., has been a member of the MMV research team. He previously worked at the Department of Physical Chemistry and Theory of Technological Processes at the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology (FMT) of VŠB-TUO, which he headed for several years. He has long been dedicated to chemical metallurgy and the study of the thermophysical, thermodynamic, and kinetic behavior of materials. In the past, he also established and managed a laboratory for thermal analysis and calorimetry for many years.

Professor Smetana is also the recipient of the prestigious international APDIC – The Alloy Phase Diagram International Commission Best Paper Award for his work in the field of alloy phase diagrams.
