Operation program Research and Development for Innovations (OP VaVpI) is one of the significant operation programs of EU which supports the growth of state competitiveness and the orientation on the knowledge economy.
In the scope of call 1.2- Regional R&D centres, priority line 2, OP VaVpI, VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava (recipient and main solver of the project) together with the company MATERIÁLOVÝ A METALURGICKÝ VÝZKUM s.r.o. (partner) sent up the project called:
" REGIONAL MATERIALS SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CENTRE "
In the Czech Republic, 24 projects in total were reviewed and evaluated on several levels. Each project application was also evaluated by foreign experts from European Committee who assessed the technical quality of the projects and worked out consensual expertise. Based on the final proceedings of the selection committee of Governing body OP VaVpI, 8 projects were chosen which will be solved by universities, research organizations and Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and subsidized by financial means of structural funds of EU.
The Project "REGIONAL MATERIALS SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CENTRE" (RMSTC) succeeded in the tender and was placed among the 8 projects which received the grant from OP VaVpI.

This project is financed by the structural funds of EU and by the state budget of the Czech Republic.
The total project grant is 680 107 000 CZK, 85% of this amount comes from EU and 15% from the state budget of the Czech Republic.
